The Fighting Victorious Hooker Hat
Last year, a dear ‘crochet sister’ from our Haaksteek team, Mirjam Annaars, was diagnosed with breast cancer. I wanted to find a way to support her through this difficult time. So, I decided to make her a hat. This hat, Jimjam, designed in freeform-style crochet, is specially made for her and for anyone experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy.
Jimjam is available in five languages: English (US), English (UK), Dutch, Spanish, and German. Doris van der Waals, owner of Haakhuis.nl, manages the four different kits, with part of the profit being donated to Hartenkussen, a cause chosen by Mirjam. Hartenkussen
For every kit sold, €2 will be donated to a heartwarming cause chosen by Mirjam. She has decided to support Hartenkussen, a Dutch organization founded by Miranda Zechner-Deen. This organization creates and provides soft, heart-shaped pillows that offer comfort and relief to breast cancer patients after surgery. Those who cannot afford to buy one only need to cover the shipping costs.

Yes, you can order a kit! We have put together four different yarn kits, each named after one of the four seasons. Along with me, three other members of our Haaksteek Team have chosen their favorite colors for Jimjam. You can order a kit at haakhuis.nl. Doris van der Waals has made the kits extra special. Soft fabric is included for lining the hat, along with easy instructions on how to sew the lining to the hat.
The price per kit is €21.50 plus shipping costs. It includes five skeins of Durable Coral in five different colors, fabric, and instructions for the lining.
